Every casino on the strip wants you to believe they’ve got the hottest slots in town…but nothing can be hotter than the weather in Vegas. That dry desert heat will make you either want to stay inside playing blackjack all day, or head down to the pool to soak in the sun and enjoy some cool drinks. But being Vegas, the pools are far from a kidney-shaped tub of water embedded in concrete. These best pools in Las Vegas are themed venues for both relaxation and excitement, for adults and kids. Here are some of the best pools in Vegas.
The Best Pool for Families in Vegas: The MGM Grand Pool
The 6.5 acre pool complex of the MGM Grand is truly worthy of its attachment to the self-toted city of entertainment, and it’s perhaps one of the best pools in Vegas for families. Four massive pools and three whirlpools are studded with palm trees, and one of the longer lazy rivers in Vegas is the perfect place to float with a cold brew in hand. You can also reserve private cabana, some of which have flatscreens and wet bars. If you get bored of the pool, you can always return to the MGM itself, which still boasts one of the largest gaming floors in Vegas, and an exhibit of live lions to boot.
The Best Pool in Vegas for Adults: Caesar’s Palace
The seven pools in the “garden of the gods pool oasis” is one of the most incredible features of Caesar’s Palace, which hearkens back to the days of ancient Rome. Classical columns surrounding the central pool, from which a white marble temple rises out of the azure waters. You can play cards at swim up blackjack tables, or enjoy a massage in one of the cabanas. Some pools are exclusively for adult vacationers, and the Bacchus pool is reserved for high rollers and the rich and famous. If you need to head indoors, don’t miss Caesar’s incredible shopping mall, which actually looks like a street in ancient Rome.
The Best Pool for Kids in Vegas: Mandalay Bay Pool
It would be hard for a resort themed along the lines of tropical Southeast Asia to NOT have one of the most amazing pool complexes on the strip, and another one of the best pools in Vegas for kids. The 11-acre complex at Mandalay Bay has a small lazy river and several pools, including a private beach club—but its main attraction is a real white sand beach and wave pool. Ride the surf in the shadow of Mandalay Bay’s Golden hotel tower, and catch a concert at night on the poolside stage during the summer. Inside Mandalay Bay you can take an underwater tunnel through a reef of live sharks.
The Best Party Pool in Vegas: The Golden Nugget
While the strip is the part of Vegas that seems to get all the action, some of the hotels downtown have really reworked their image. The Golden Nugget has an awesome rooftop pool complex, with one infinity pool for the 21 and over crowd spilling over a glass side that faces a bar. The star attraction, however, is “The Tank,” a 30-foot water slide that passes through an enormous shark tank of double six-figures in gallons of water. Just outside the hotel is the Fremont Street Experience, which is an incredible display of vegas-style flash and glitter on the ceiling above downtown’s Fremont Street.
The Best Low Key Pool in Vegas: The Paris Pool
Though there are a few rooftop pools throughout Vegas, Paris is one of the best because of the hotel’s location right in the middle of the strip. The rooftop pool of the Paris is wide open under the sky, with the Eiffel Tower (not the real one, but a convincing lookalike) towering above, and Caesar’s Palace across the street. However, despite it’s awesome location, the pool itself—a large octagon with symmetrically arranged lounge chairs all around—is pretty low key. In fact, the Paris Hotel itself is a pretty low-key venue, which is great for travelers who want a theme but don’t want too much excitement.
